Elegant Sunflower Girl

It's day three of teasers for MFT - otherwise known as Pure Innocence day! Every month we release five new PI sets, and every month they are just adorable! My card today uses the cute-as-a-button Sunflower Girl.

I thought her little dress looked quite formal, so I went for an elegant look. I've used the new Bracket Tab for my sentiment - and yup, that's a new rolled flower - it's called the Retro Rolled Flower!

I'm brand new to Copic colouring having bought my first markers a few months ago and so appreciate all the wonderful bloggers out there that show their colour combos. I always forget to write down my colours when I'm in the creative zone, so thought I'd make an effort every now and then and create a little resource for anyone who like me, likes to see what colours others are working with.

I don't claim to be anywhere near an expert when it comes to Copics or colouring but I hope this helps someone! I often get emails about Copics and what colours to buy so hopefully this will give you some ideas and it might be helpful to see what a fellow newbie is using. Please feel free to save this image to your computer (right click and choose save as). Over time I hope to have a collection of these Copic colour keys I can pop in a document for you to download.

Inside my card I've used more of those gorgeous Out of Print papers by Basic Grey and one of my fave Die-namic sets, Well Worn Greetings.

Sliding into home with SFYTT!

Whew....I made it - just! I can't believe I almost didn't create with this month's SFYTT from the lovely Jen, especially when MFT are the sponsors this month! Fortunately, I remembered just in time and whipped up this birthday card using the cute new PI and the Pinwheel set.

I coloured the image with copic markers, paper piecing the clothes and pinwheel. I did cheat with the sketch just a little, I put one of the layers behind my image so it didn't cut her in half, and I used the speech bubble instead of the three circular elements on the sketch.

Inside I've used the new bracket tab die-namic that the MFT team are sneaking you peeks of this week - love it!

Goodbye OCC!

This is my second post for the day - please scroll down for my MFT teaser post!

I have a bittersweet post today - this is my last week as a member of the Our Creative Corner design team. It's been a wonderful team to be on for the last 18 months, but I'm moving on to concentrate on other things and let someone else take a turn! Thank you ladies for the wonderful challenges each week, I've so enjoyed being on a team with you all!

I'm the hostess for this week, and I have a colour challenge for you. Red and Aqua! From pale aqua to bright turquoise, this is one of my favourite colour combos, especially with a little pop of pink added in. The inspiration images are from my Red and Aqua Pinterest board.

I've used one of the cute new à la mode images the MFT team are previewing today - Bundle of Baby. The image is coloured with Copics and paper pieced. I've used the cute Say What speech bubble Die-namic to add my sentiment.

Inside I've shadow stamped the image and added two more sentiments. Be sure to stop by the OCC blog to see all the amazing designer creations!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Ticket to the Moulin Rouge

Welcome to day two of teasers for My Favorite Things! I just know you're going to love this new Die-namic and stamp combo set, Just the Ticket really is just the ticket! (I know, stick to my day job!) I love all the ticket elements in this set, they are so fun.

I think of this as my Moulin Rouge card - once it was done it just screamed Moulin Rouge to me, must be all those red scallops!

I had a blast combining elements and distressing on this card. See that gorgeous flourish? You are going to need that Die-namic, it's wonderful! I've used the negative left behind from cutting the flourish to add some sponged detail to the background of the card. I've also used my air spritzer thingee to add some grungy droplets to the background, as well as some sponging and distressing of the edges.

I also sponged the edges of my mini rolled roses before putting them together, then added some cinnamon stickles for a bit of shine. I'm stuck on making these long, tall cards - I use the offcut of cardstock I get when I cut a 5"x5" card - it leaves a remnant that is the perfect size!

I like the inside of this card just as much as the front! I've used a couple more tickets - aren't they wonderful? I've also used the fancy flourish again, as well as a mini ticket strip, stamped with the small happy birthday sentiment from the birthday ticket image (I just inked it up with a marker)

By the Numbers

Yippee - it's that time again, MFT teaser time! For the next five days the MFT girls will bring you sneak peaks of some fabulous new stamps and die-namics, prepare to be blown away!

Today I have a card using By the Numbers, a fab new die-namic and stamp combo set. This set is so unique! It features a bunch of mini "background" images you can stamp, then cut out with the cute number dies.

I'm crazy for polka dots, so stamped them on my patterned paper before die-cutting. I've used two layers of thin chipboard under my paper to give this element a lot of dimension. See that large tag? Yup! new die-namic alert! You're going to see lots of tags from the designers, we all love it!

Inside I've repeated the tag element and used up the scraps of my Cosmo Cricket designer paper.

Wednesday Stamp Club #30!

It's time for another wonderful WSC sketch from My Favorite Things. I know you'll love playing with this one, there are lots of layers to showcase papers or stamped images. I've used another new PI girl - this is Waterlily, the flower of the month Pure Innocence for July.

I've used papers from the Lime Twist collection by MME and lots of die-namics of course! That leafy flourish is quickly becoming one of my most used elements, it's perfect to add a little somethin'-somethin' to your cards.

Inside I stamped the PI girl again, in red rather than the neutral I usually use. I can't seem to get away from this Well Worn Greeting's Die-namic either, I just love the shape!

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

To play along with WSC, create a card with the provided sketch and upload it to SCS using the keyword MFTWSC30. A new sketch will be posted each Wednesday at midnight on the MFT blog and also in the forum. Each week one random winner will win a $15 voucher to spend at MFT, and if you use MFT stamps on your creation, you'll get a $5 bonus taking your voucher win up to $20! We'll be chatting each week on the sketch thread, so come join us in the MFT forum!
