Inspired by Spring...challenges

Hello! Since browsing the Just Hatched fan club gallery at SCS this month, I've had this Inspired by Spring stamp set on my mind. The SCS sketch challenge this week was the perfect time to put my vision to paper.

Embellished Eggs again!

Welcome and Happy Easter! I'm enjoying my first day with hubby home - we've decided on a stay-cation this Easter, lots of good food, fun and games in our own little home with our wonderful (teething!) baby boy :-)

Today I have a card I made for the 3rd round of the CAS design team call. I'm excited to be guest designing this term, it's great to give a little something back to Splitcoast for all the inspiration I've received over the years.

Here's the inspiration photo for my project:

Viva la Verve - Oh Boy!

Happy weekend! Today I have a card to share using the last Viva la Verve sketch for March. Anya's wonderful sketch inspired me to ink up To The Moon for the first time - the sentiments and images in this set are just adorable!

I started by stamping the elephant and colouring with copics, popping up the main portion of his head. The main sentiment was stamped on this fun baby paper, and the secondary sentiment was stamped on a rectangle I rounded the corners on. A bow, rhinestones and some piercing finish off the card front.

There are so many fun sentiments in this set, I used another two on the inside of my card! I also stamped the elephant again, just because he's cute!

Someone will win a $100 voucher to spend at Verve for participating in all four Viva la Verve sketches this month - what a fantastic prize!!

Happy Easter!

Hi there! I'm back with a card I made for this weeks Splitcoast sketch challenge and the Simon Says Stamp challenge to make an Easter or Spring card.

I'm so excited for Easter this year. Since we had Jackson any extra time we can spend as a family is SO precious. Four days without Shanan going to work sounds like bliss!

WSC116 - Sweet

Welcome! Today I'm sharing a card I made for this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I've used a couple of my favourite products on this one along with a bright and cheery colour scheme.

When I see tall vertical panels, I always think of the Vertical Greetings range! I've stamped the sentiment in Blu Raspberry ink and paired it with the new Electric Red cardstock. I've embossed my card background and added those sweet butterflies with a rhinestone body.

The sentiment on the inside of my card comes from the Birthday Sentiments set which is available free at www.mftstamps.com with a $60 purchase right now! I stamped it repeatedly on my butterfly for a different look.

Here are the wonderful My Favorite Things goodies I've used today:

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for all the designers playing along this week - you won't want to miss their gorgeous creations!

Little Behind

Welcome! I'm playing along with round two of the CAS DT search on SCS, and the challenge today was a little wild!

We were to be inspired by lingerie, and also include an animal or animal print.

I thought of this hippo right away....something about lingerie and butts I guess :-D

I've had this stamp set since 2008 (Just So Hippy by Gina K) and it probably hasn't been inked since then, so it was well overdue! I coloured the hippo with copics and popped up her...back half...on foam dots. I've used the new Grassy Edges Die-namics and worked in some lingerie inspired embellishments with the Faux Crochet Border and some rhinestones. The sentiment is stamped in Sour Apple ink from MFT. The paper is Happy Days from MME.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shimmery Birthday

Hi there! I hope you had/are having a great weekend. We've had a little rain where I live this weekend which is much needed as we are in full on drought status! I'm popping in today to share a clean and simple card using heat embossing and homemade shimmer sprays..

I created this card for the spring CAS DT search at SCS. The challenge was to be inspired by make-up so I made a shimmery card based on the fun eyeshadow colours that were everywhere this summer!

I've used the Birthday Sentiments stamp set from MFT - you can find it here for FREE with a qualifying purchase!

To create my card I heat embossed multiple sentiments onto a card base. I created my own shimmer sprays using all purpose ink in champagne, reinkers (tangerine tango, cool carribean and river rock) and ink potion number nine. I LOVE making my own sprays with this combo and plan to make some in my fave MFT colours just as soon as I get my next order (I can't wait to make Blu Raspberry!)

I kept the inside of my card super simple with another sprayed panel. I like to make up just enough spray to finish each project so I can reuse my mini misters after a quick rinse out. I'd need WAY to many to have one for each colour!

Here are the wonderful My Favorite Things goodies I've used today:

Flowers Bloom

Hi Friends! Today I'm here to share a card made for the new Viva La Verve sketch (March week 3) and the Simon Says challenge to make a shabby chic card. I've been enjoying this style lately and Verve is always a perfect match for distressed edges and sponging!

My main sentiment is the Where Flowers Bloom PJ. The flowers are from Brighter Days and are cut with the Scalloped Flowers die.

I flipped the sketch to accommodate my flower and large sentiment. All my edges are sponged and distressed and I added some wonky machine stitching to my base layer. I also added some Stardust Stickles randomly on the edges of my flower. I also busted my ink spritzer tool out of hiding and added some sprayed detail with a crumb cake marker.

The brad in the center of the flower was pewter, I "shabbied" it by adding a layer of white enamel and wiping most of it off before it dried.

I kept the inside of my card super simple so there would be lots of room to write a message. I used my inkpad direct to paper and also spritzed on some crumb cake marker. The medallion from Grateful Elegance is stamped in Tattered Rose.

Stamps: Where Flowers Bloom PJ, Artful Elegance, Brighter Days (Verve StampsPaper: Nostalgia (MME) Ink: Tattered Rose, Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger) Jumbo Java Versamagic Chalk Ink Dies: A Cut Above Dies: Scalloped Flowers (Verve Stamps) Eyelet Circles (Spellbinders) Fishtail Flags (MFT) Other: Pearls, Crumb Cake Marker, Air Spritzer Tool, Embossing Folder, Brad, White Enamel Accents (Ranger)

Halloween in March!

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing another card I made for the VSN challenges at SCS. The challenge for this card was to use a creepy crawly, make the creepy crawly shiny, use chocolate chip from SU! and use a halloween product as well as make the card in 45 mins! Whew!

I used the Spider Web Die-namics for my creepy crawly, coating him in a glaze to make the spider shiny. I used the Spider Web sentiments for my halloween sentiment, which is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. The sentiment is stamped on an Orange Fizz Simply Scallops panel. The card was finished off with a ZVA creative rhinestone swirl.

Here are the wonderful My Favorite Things goodies I've used today:

New Product Tour - Bright and Shabby!

Welcome! It's time - all those wonderful new goodies from My Favorite Things are available RIGHT HERE NOW!!!

The team are back for the New Product Tour - we're sharing projects made with all the fantastic new release stamps, Die-namics and replenishments!

I have a few projects to share today, a bright and fun birthday set and at the other end of the spectrum a shabby chic vintage card!

First up today is a birthday set I created based around the new Lollipop Additions - Birthday stamp set!

My set started with the wonderful Lollipop Treat Die-namics...

I love the Lollipop Treat range and the birthday set is SO fun! I stamped the banner at the bottom of my treat, and layered up the embellishments on the rosette topper. I've used Hootenanny paper from MME for this set. The cute party hat is from the Party Hat border!

I've also used the Lollipop Additions - Birthday stamp set on this pillow box. I stamped the sentiment, then punched out the center of the panel to frame this cute owl!

I've also used the party hats on this box and the card as a unifying feature.

For the card, I had to break out the Blueprints 1 Die-namics. I would run to get these folks, I have a feeling they will be flying off the shelf!

The sentiments from this card come from the amazing Birthday Sentiments set - yours free when you spend $60 this month! I used a Circle STAX Die-namics to create a recess for my Whip Cream button on the front of my card.

I couldn't resist adding a party hat to the inside of the card as well, they are too cute!

Now for something completely different...

I wanted to use Pretty Poppies to create a shabby chic card and I LOVE how this turned out! I stamped the poppies in distress inks and painted over top with crackle paint. The paint will make the ink run and blur which is exactly the effect I wanted! I love how soft and pretty it looks. I rubbed a little extra ink over top of the crackle to enhance some of the lines.

I hand dyed my seam binding with the distress inks as well. I sponged, distressed and ripped all the edges of my panels and quickly stitched a border on the main panel, letting go of my usual desire to sew straight!

I roughed up the inside of my card as well, and created two more crackle panels for layering my sentiment panel with. I had some ribbon left over so used it up here!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you've enjoyed the projects I've shared! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog and see what the entire team has been creating!
