Deconstructed Whimsy Tree

Happy Halloween! (at least here in NZ) I guess I should have had something spooky to share today huh? Nothing scary here today! I wanted to play with the awesome Deconstructed Sketch 124, I loved the tilted panels.

Here's my card...

My card started with the Whimsy Tree from Verve. I created a stencil from some cloud die cuts and lightly sponged a sky, paper piecing the tree and ground. I added some sponging, and a little sewing. The sentiment is from Feeling Groovy, a retired Verve stamp set.

How fun is that tree? love it!

Here's the inside of my card...

Thanks for stopping by! I'm busy preparing for a VERY busy November - expect lots of eye candy...and maybe some blog candy!

Hitched!

Hello! I've been busy, busy, stamping up a storm lately...I might just have some news coming up soon and I've been making lots of things to share!

In the meantime, I think I might have forgotten to mention....I'm a Catered Crop designer!!

I was so excited to be asked to join this SERIOUSLY talented team! I worked with Linda at MFT and she is awesome, and sweet to boot. The entire team is amazing, be sure to check them out on my sidebar!

The current Recipe Swap is Washi Up - use some fab washi tape on your creation!

I know - I didn't do anything earth shattering with my tape, but before grounding this card with that awesome woodgrain washi, it was just SO pastel. A simple strip made all the difference! I also lined my backing layer with the same tape.

The little camper from Avery Elle's Home Sweet Home was coloured with copics and the windows got a little glaze pen love. I stamped the small hearts in the set and added them on wire.

I was inspired by the current AEI♥U Challenge which is this fab sketch...

I shopped at i {heart} papers for my supplies today! The stamps are Avery Elle - Home Sweet Home, the paper is Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party, and I've also used this great woodgrain Washi Tape and Gold Sequins. You'll find many more goodies in store, head on over, take a peek at what's new and say hi from me!

Here's the inside of my card...

I used the Washi again, this time to join the leftover paper strips I had for a quick background. I'll be using this trick again!

Happy Monday! I'm starting the week with a card full of thankfulness. The There She Goes challenge this week is to use leaves!

I've used the newly released Happy Fall stamp set today. I was inspired by the City Crafter Challenge to use Pumpkins, and the JUGS challenge which is this gorgeous photo...

I coloured with copics, adding lots of piercing, sponging and distressing.

Here's the inside...

How sweet is that little pinecone? I hope you'll join us over at the There She Goes Blog this week for your chance to win a little something-something to go shopping with!

Christmas in the Air

Hi friends! Even though I'm feeling VERY unprepared, I'm definitely in the Christmas mood, stamp wise!

Today's Crazy for Challenges theme is using your FAVE stamp set. I have a confession. That was just too hard for me, I don't think I could pick an all time favourite! So I've used my current fave, the beautiful Christmas in the Air from Verve.

I've used this week's Viva la Verve sketch for my layout.

You can find all the details about this challenge and how you can win $100 to spend on Verve goodies in the Viva la Verve forum.

I inked the wreath in a pale blue, overinking with a little mint (which is almost all covered up!) and a Pine Needles distress marker. The snowflakes were cut with the Frosty Snowflakes die and glittered with stickles. I've also used the gorgeous Award Banner die, sewing it to my paper base.

Here's the inside...

I've cut the tree with the Winter Fun die set. Don't you love that beautiful sentiment?

Now it's time to go see all the fab inspiration from the design team, happy hopping!

Pugalicious Blog Hop!

Release week is continuing at There She Goes with THE most adorable new set from Torico!

Pugs. Dressed up pugs. 'Nuff said.

Pugalicious is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 25 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Go ahead, squeal, I'll wait. I KNOW. This set is A-dorable. I've dressed my pug up in some antlers and a scarf. I even made the antlers fuzzy...here's a closer look...

I coloured with copics and added fun flock on the antlers. The scarf is paper pieced. The papers aren't supposed to be for Christmas but I thought they'd make an awesome, slightly different Christmas design. The layout is the awesome Seize the Sketch #6.

Here's the inside...

Peeking pug!!! Oh I can't stand it, it's too cute.

Happy Birthday Inlay Feather

Hello! I'm stopping by with a clean and simple card that has LOTS of pop! My friend Dawn is hosting her first SCS challenge this week, inlay die cuts. I just HAD to play along! I've used lots of Wplus9 goodies from i {heart} papers for my card.

I love how this turned out! I adhered strips of leftover cardstock to plain paper, die cut the oval, then cut out the feather. Be careful getting those teeny tiny pieces out in case they break! I used an embossing folder to emboss a feather-ish design on some scrap card and adhered that behind the window. A banner and some enamel dots finished things off.
Here are my supplies today: The stamps are from Wplus 9 - Basic Banners & Strictly Sentiments 1 and I've also used the Fanciful Feathers Dies, Basic Banner die, Black Enamel Dots from Doodlebug, Tide Pool shadow ink and the Woven Embossing Folder.

Here's a closer look at that embossing...

And here's the inside of my card...

Speaking of birthdays...

Don't forget the IHP sale is going strong! There are some items 75% off!! Stop by and say "hi" from me!

Give Thanks Blog Hop!

Hi peeps! It's day two of sneak peeks for There She Goes! Our second release from new designer, Chaitali, will have you ready for all your fall cards.

The clean and simple images, and sentiments will help you create gorgeous cards for fall.

Give Thanks is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $9.00.

Don't you just love all those leaves?! I created my focal panel first, stamping the leaves in fall colours - some are inked in orange and red for variagation. I used a fine line pen to draw the frame. The background was stamped with the falling leaves in a dark brown.

I used a real leaf with colour variegation from orange to green behind my cork circle and button tied with hemp twine, I love texture on fall cards!

I'm linking up to the Moxie Fab Enthralled with Fall Tuesday Trigger...

Here's a closer look at the adorable acorns!
